Alonzo Addae Selected in the CFL Draft

Morgantown, West Virginia – The Canadian Football League held its annual draft last night and one West Virginia Mountaineers player was selected #13 overall in the draft by the Ottawa Redblacks!

Alonzo Addae, a redshirt senior safety for the Mountaineers, is originally from Pinkering, Ontario, Canada, and plans to return home to play in the Canadian Football League after graduating from WVU.

While Addae will play for the Mountaineers next fall, he is still eligible to be drafted in the CFL Draft.

Per the league’s rules, “the league has decided to keep all NCAA prospects in the 2021 CFL Draft regardless of whether or not they plan to play another season of college football. This is different from the traditional eligibility rules that require players to have completed their NCAA careers before entering the draft.”
