Morgantown, WV – Since Rich Rodriguez was announced as the next head coach of the Mountaineer Football program, fans and supporters have speculated whether he could pry a legacy player from the grips of Ohio State. Chris Henry Jr., son of the late former Mountaineer Chris Henry and a 247Sports five star prospect, has been committed to the Buckeyes since 2023.
Rodriguez, who was previously at WVU from 2001 to 2007, coached Henry Jr’s father during his time in Morgantown. Given his connection with Henry and his guardian, Adam Jones, it seemed like a no-brainer that he could potentially flip the highly touted prospect.
Well, it is appearing that will not be the case.
Henry Jr. has officially set his campus visit schedule for this summer. West Virginia was not included on this list.

The Matter Dei High School prospect will visit Miami, USC, Oregon, and Ohio State all before the end of June. While this schedule is certainly subject to change, this isn’t promising for those who hope West Virginia can land the program changing prospect.
Henry Jr. visit schedule is as follows:
Miami – May 30th to June 1st
USC – June 6th to 8th
Oregon – June 13th to 15th
