A Match Made in Almost Heaven?

With Neal Brown squarely on the hot seat, many are calling for the return of Rich Rodriguez. The former Mountaineer head man just finished his first season at Jacksonville State, and compiled a 9-2 record with an ASUN Conference Championship. Despite not being eligible for the FCS Playoffs (due to FBS transition rules), this was by all means a successful season for the Gamecocks.

Though many fans are rightfully disappointed in Rodriguez for his handling of things in 2007, the talent on the roster may be perfect for his return right now. One player in particular that could really benefit from his return is Garrett Greene.

Greene is exactly the type of quarterback that Rodriguez has historically had success with. You have to look no farther than Pat White to see that. With the speedster at quarterback, Rodriguez nearly took the Mountaineers to the BCS National Championship in 2007.
