Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers were outclassed in virtually every way tonight, losing to the #6 ranked Kansas Jayhawks, 71-58.
The Mountaineers, who have now lost 10 of their last 11 games, once again shot the ball poorly (19-68, 27%) and were severely out-rebounded (49-32).
West Virginia’s two senior guards, Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil, both scored in double-digits, but once again struggled to shoot consistently from the field. McNeil finished the night with 18 points (6-18 FG) and 4 rebounds, and Sherman had 16 points on 6-16 from the field.
The Mountaineers only have five regular season games remaining and will next travel to play the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs on the road Monday night at 8:00PM.
