
Morgantown, West Virginia – After being named the Gatorade Arizona High School Football Player of the Year last week, West Virginia Mountaineers commit Nicco Marchiol has now been named the MaxPreps Arizona Football Player of the Year.
Marchiol, who led his Hamilton High School Huskies (11-1) to the state semifinals, finished his remarkable high school senior year with 2,666 yards, a school record 37 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions.
As a four year starter during his high school career, Marchiol was 637/942 (68% completion percentage) for 8,261 yards, 90 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,295 yards and 24 touchdowns during his high school career.
Marchiol will now enroll early at West Virginia University early next month to prepare for his freshman season with the Mountaineers.
