Auburn Reportedly Close to Signing New Head Coach

Morgantown, West Virginia – The vacant head coach position at Auburn has been subject to great speculation and rumors over the past few days in West Virginia with Neal Brown being mentioned as a potential replacement for the recently-fired Gus Malzahn.

Shane Lyons, West Virginia’s Director of Athletics, denied the rumors and said that Brown never interviewed for the position and didn’t intend to.

Moments ago, it was announced that Auburn is close to naming their new head coach.  Bryan Harsin, head coach at Boise State since 2014, is expected to sign with Auburn very soon.  Football Scoop says their sources say this is a “done deal.”

Harsin, who was not mentioned on any Auburn hot boards as a potential candidate, has been very successful at Boise State with 69-19 overall record and 45-8 record in the Mountain West Conference.

When Harsin signs, this will officially put an end to the Neal Brown to Auburn rumors that have circulated online for the past few days.
