Cavallo, a native of Hopewell Junction, (NY) throws a fastball in the high 80s to low 90s.
From his Perfect Game profile:
“Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 84 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Gets sinking life to the bottom of the zone when on-time and synced up, mixed in still developing breaking ball with vertical tilt to it. Tons of projection remaining, will continue to add velocity with minor refinements mechanically and additional strength. Secondary outfielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Fields properly off his front foot and gathers cleanly into a well-maintained release. Recorded arm strength up to 89 mph from the outfield during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, narrow stance with an exaggerated high hand set and hanging leg lift trigger. Leveraged stroke with tons of strength at impact and developing feel for the barrel. Mostly pullside contact with some legitimate backspin and carry to that side. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and minor refinements. Immensely projectable frame with tons of velocity upside on the mound and some two-way ability moving forward. Good Student. Named to the 2023 New York Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.”
