Baylor Easily Handles West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia 2023-2024 basketball season continued to take a downward spiral, as the Mountaineers were beaten soundly, 94-81, by the #12 ranked Baylor Bears.

West Virginia moved to 8-17 overall and 3-9 in the Big 12 Conference with the loss. The Mountaineers were led by senior center Jesse Edwards, who had 20 points and 8 rebounds. RaeQuan Battle had 25 points and 2 assists, and Quinn Slazinksi finished with 9 points. Josiah Harris added 8 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. West Virginia native and former Mountaineer Jalen Bridges had 10 points and 7 rebounds for Baylor in his second game returning home as an opposing player.


West Virginia will be back in action on Tuesday, February 20 at home against the UCF Knights. The game begins at 7:00PM and will be shown live on ESPN.
