
WHEELING, West Virginia — The #1 ranked team in the West Virginia division, Best Virginia, defeated 8th ranked Dubois Dream in the opening round of the TBT in Wheeling, West Virginia tonight.
Best Virginia, a collection of former West Virginia Mountaineer basketball players, struggled early in the first half, but was able to inch out a victory in the Elam Ending to win, 70-68 on a game-winning 3 pointer by Erik Stevenson!

West Virginia legend Kevin Jones led the Best Virginia with 22 points (10-12) and 10 rebounds. Erik Stevenson, who played for the Mountaineers last season, added 16 points for Best Virginia in the win.
In addition, Bob Huggins made an appearance at the game. This was the first time that Huggins had been seen in public since his DUI arrest and resignation as the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers. Several of Huggins’ former players are played in tonight’s game.
Best Virginia will be back in action on Thursday, July 27, against the winner of Herd That (Marshall team) versus Zoo Crew (Pittsburgh) game. The game will be played at 9:00PM eastern time and will be shown live on ESPN+.
