Charleston, West Virginia – The West Virginia alumni team, Best Virginia, struggled early but pulled away in the second, running away with a 75-45 blowout victory over 8th-seeded Virginia Dream in the opening round of the TBT.
Best Virginia was led by Mountaineers legend Kevin Jones, who finished the game with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Former Glenville State and Fairmont State star Jamel Morris had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, and Jermaine Haley added 11 points on 4-7 from the field.
The win sets up an All-West Virginia matchup next Tuesday at 8:00PM against Marshall’s alumni team, Herd That, who beat the 5th-seeded Founding Fathers team earlier today, 77-71.
