Matt Campbell is the hottest name in the coaching carousel this off-season. The Iowa State coach has seen his name linked to many openings around the country, both college and professional.

Yesterday, Campbell was the topic of conflicting reports, pertaining to a potential interview.

According to Bruce Feldman, an analyst for The Athletic and Fox Sports, Campbell is not expected to interview for the coaching vacancy with the New York Jets. He had previously turned down an interview opportunity with the organization in 2018, and was expected to once again be given the chance to put his name in the pool for the job.

While this report from Feldman is the likely scenario, reports earlier in the day stated the exact opposite for Campbell regarding a potential interview.

Per Jason La Canfora of CBS, Campbell was expected to interview with the Jets, with owner Chris Johnson being “very interested” in the Cyclones’ coach.

No one is for sure which report is true, but we should expect some insight on the situation in the very near future.
