Bob Huggins in Attendance at Interesting Game

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Former West Virginia head coach Bob huggins has often been in attendance at the WVU Coliseum to watch the Mountaineers this season, but today, he is attending a game elsewhere.

According to multiple reports, Huggins, 70, is in the crowd of the Purdue versus Ohio State game in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio State recently fired their head coach, Chris Holtmann, and are in the process of searching for its next head coach. The Buckeyes are currently 14-11 overall and 4-10 in the Big Ten Conference. Although it’s very unlikely that Huggins will ever coach at West Virginia University again, he has reportedly said that he would be interested in returning to coaching if the right opportunity became available.

Ohio State would obviously be the “right situation” for Huggins, considering their facilities, NIL money and Power 5 conference, but Huggins has not shown up on many lists as a potential candidate at the school. With that said, he is one of the winningest head coaches in the history of college basketball and a Hall of Famer, who would certainly be successful there.

More likely, however, is that Huggins is simply there to support his friend Matt Painter, who is the head coach of the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue is currently the #2 team in the nation with a 23-2 record this season.

Something to keep an eye on!
