Morgantown, West Virginia – Following West Virginia’s 87-63 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12 Conference Tournament, Bob Huggins said that Kansas would likely win the national championship.
And they did.
Huggins said the following about Kansas’ head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks winning it all this season: “We’ve had great games with them over the years. I think this might be one of Bill’s best teams. Actually – and make sure you write this – Bill ought to win a national championship and if he doesn’t, they ought to fire him.”
As we know, the Jayhawks roared back from 16 points down to North Carolina at halftime to come back and win the national championship, beating the Tarheels 72-69.
Today, the Kansas Men’s Basketball official media account said, “Thank you for manifesting this, Coach Huggs.”
