BREAKING: Big 12 hands out suspensions from KU-KSU brawl

The Big 12 has announced its punishments regarding Tuesday night’s brawl at the end of the Kansas-Kansas State basketball game.

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said Kansas forward Silvio De Sousa will be suspended 12 games and teammate David McCormack has been suspended two games.

Kansas State’s James Love received an eight-game suspension from the conference and Antonio Gordan was suspended three games.

Both programs were reprimanded for violating the Big 12 Sportsmanship policy as a result of players from both teams leaving the bench during the fracas.

Earlier Wednesday, Kansas coach Bill Self announced the team had suspended De Sousa indefinitely for his role in the brawl, which included De Sousa holding a stool above his head and waving it during the incident.
