MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — In a huge boost to the Mountaineers’ rebuilding offensive front, 6’4”, 305-pound offensive lineman Cameron Griffin has committed to West Virginia University for the 2026 season. Griffin, a First Team All-Conference USA selection in 2025 with Jacksonville State, brings versatility, toughness, and immediate impact to a line in desperate need of reinforcements.

Griffin, who has one year of eligibility remaining, started multiple positions on the line in 2025 — from left tackle to center — displaying the kind of flexibility offensive line coach Rick Trickett covets as he revamps the Mountaineer trenches.

The New Look Mountaineer Offensive Line

Under the guidance of veteran coach Rick Trickett, recently named WVU’s offensive line coach and heralded for developing dominant lines across decades of college football, West Virginia is aggressively remaking its front five.

Here’s a look at the other key offensive line commits that are reshaping the Mountaineer offense:

Devin Vass – Kansas State Transfer

A 6’6”, 308-pound lineman from Kansas State, Vass chose West Virginia after showcasing strong pass-protecting skills and physicality in the Big 12. He comes in with two years of eligibility remaining and adds length and athleticism to the interior line.

Wes King – Wyoming Transfer

Another transfer portal addition, King is a veteran guard with starting experience in the Mountain West. At 6’5”, he adds size and run-blocking prowess to the tackle-to-guard mix and gives Trickett more experienced depth up front.

Carsten Casady – UConn Transfer

The towering 6’7” tackle from UConn brings even more size and projection to the right edge of the line. With Griffin’s versatility and Casady’s length, WVU looks to fortify both the tackle spots.

Kevin Brown – Four-Star Recruit

While not a transfer portal piece, the Mountaineers also landed four-star offensive tackle Kevin Brown in the 2026 high school recruiting class — widely regarded as one of the top OL prospects in the nation. Brown’s commitment gives WVU a potential cornerstone young blocker to develop under Trickett.

A Completely Rebuilt Front Five

In just the early days of the transfer portal and signing period, West Virginia has added multiple offensive linemen with starting experience and high upside. Combined with incoming freshmen talent like Brown and the leadership of Trickett, the Mountaineers are reshaping what was a struggling line in 2025 into a new, physically dominant group for 2026.

Griffin’s arrival — with proven all-conference credentials — sends a loud message: West Virginia is serious about controlling the line of scrimmage. With an infusion of size, versatility, and competitive toughness, the WVU offensive line is on its way to being one of the most improved units in the Big 12 next season.

Stay tuned — this rebuild is just getting started.
