BREAKING: Mountaineers Get Top Target

Morgantown, West Virginia – The future of the West Virginia Mountaineers just got a whole lot brighter!

Rodney Gallagher, a a 6’0 180 pound four star wide receiver from just up the road in Uniontown, PA, has announced that he has committed to play for the Mountaineers!

Gallagher, a 2023 recruit, is currently Pennsylvania’s #1 ranked prospect in football and the state’s #2 ranked recruit in basketball in the 2023 class, although he announced months ago that he would only play football in college.

Gallagher chose the Mountaineers over Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, among multiple other offers from major programs around the country.

Gallagher is ranked as the sixth best recruit in West Virginia football history behind only Noel Devine, Jason Gwaltney, Brandon Barrett, Ivan McCartney and Geno Smith, and his commitment will push the Mountaineers into the 15-20th range nationally in the 2023 class.

The Mountaineers’ 2023 recruiting class is already ranked 28th in the nation after getting commits from Josiah Trotter, Cameron Calhoun, Josiah Jackson, Jahiem White, Raheim Jeter and Cameron Jackson.
