Morgantown, West Virginia – Pitt Panthers’ head coach Pat Narduzzi called a special media press conference this morning to announce who will be the starting quarterback for his team when they open their season next week against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

As expected, Narduzzi has named Kedon Slovis, a redshirt senior transfer from the University of Southern California, as his starter for the game.

Slovis passed for 2,153 yards, 11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions (193-297, 65%) as the starting quarterback last season at USC, leading the Trojans to a 4-8 record.

West Virginia will meet Pitt next Thursday, September 1st, in the Backyard Brawl. The game will almost certainly feature two former teammates at USC, Kedon Slovis and West Virginia’s likely starter JT Daniels.
