BREAKING: Sean Mahone Makes Decision on Future

Moments ago, WVU safety Sean Mahone confirmed that he will be exercising his extra year of eligibility, and will return to the Mountaineers in 2021.

When explaining his decision, Mahone said in a statement, “Fortunately, the NCAA has allowed an extra year of eligibility and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play another season of WVU Football. We have some unfinished business, Mountaineer Nation.”

He is the third Mountaineer defender to decide to return for an extra season, along with Alonzo Addae and Jeffrey Pooler.

Mahone finished the 2020 season tallying 50 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
