Morgantown, West Virginia – Last month, Martinsburg High School tuba player J.D. Nickey announced on his social media account that he committed to continue his academic and musical career at West Virginia University.
In his commitment announcement, Nickey said the following: “First and foremost I want to thank the man above for giving me this opportunity.”
Nickey went on to thank his parents and band directors before adding, “I am officially announcing my commitment to West Virginia University to continue my academics and music career.”
Now, Nickey has made it official by signing to play tuba for West Virginia University at a signing ceremony held at Martinsburg High School.
