Update on WVU Football Recruiting

Morgantown, West Virginia - The 2023 recruiting class got off to a fast and promising start, but has slowed down as of late. There's a total of 17 commitments and they show plenty of talent across the board. At the beginning of the cycle, the '23 class was on pace to become one of the best in school history. As things have died down, the class still looks solid but nothing spectacular. Could it still become spectacular? Absolutely. I will explain how I think the staff should wrap up this class, so it can live up to the hype that was created for it. Before I do that, let's take a look at who is coming in: Josiah Trotter - 4* - LB - 6'2" 225lbs - Philadelphia, PA Rodney Gallagher - 4* - ATH (WR) - 6'0" 170lbs - Uniontown, PA James Heard - 4* - DE - 6'2" 225lbs - Camden, NJ Jaheim White - 3* - RB - 5'9" 187lbs - York, PA Josiah Jackson - 3* - DB - 6'0" 170lbs - Fairfield, OH Cooper Young - 3* - OL - 6'5" 300lbs - Downingtown, PA Jordan Louie - 3* - RB - 6'0" 200lbs - Norcross, GA Justin Benton - 3* - DT - 6'2" 275lbs - Covington, GA Jordan Jackson - 3* - ATH (DB) - 5'11" 175lbs - Fairfield, OH Corey McIntyre Jr - 3* - DE - 6'4" 265lbs - Port St. Lucie, FL Ben Cutter - 3* - LB - 6'1" 210lbs - Denver, NC Tory Johnson - 3* - ATH (TE) - 6'4" 200lbs - Chesapeake, VA Noah Braham - 3* - ATH - 6'2" 225lbs - Morgantown, WV Johnny Williams - 3* - OL - 6'6" 315lbs - Macon, GA Elijah Caldwell - 3* - WR - 6'1" 191lbs - Rock Hill, SC Nick Krahe - 3* - OL - 6'5" 280lbs - Harborcreek, PA Oryend Fisher - 3* - DE - 6'6" 205lbs - Georgetown, KY Obviously, these guys are only "verbal" commits as of now, but I am expecting the majority, if not all, to sign the papers once signing day rolls around. This recruiting class is far from finished, though. I am expecting somewhere around 10 more commits, probably pretty evenly split on both sides of the ball, with the secondary being the primarily focus on defense and offense should be pretty well spread out. Even though, I wouldn't be surprised if they focused a tad more on targeting wide receivers.
