MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, the West Virginia coaching staff received huge news when transfer senior Chance Moore was made eligible to play for the Mountaineers for the 2025-2026 season!
Moore, a 6’6 guard from Brookhaven, Georgia, averaged 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game at St. Bonaventure last season and has 1 years of eligibility remaining. Chance was a four star recruit back in 2021 and initially committed to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. There was some uncertainty about whether he would be eligible to play this season, but the NCAA has officially approved his waiver and he will play for the Mountaineers for the upcoming season.

In a statement released from the university, West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge expressed excitement about the news of Moore being eligible to play: “We are pleased that the NCAA approved the waiver for Chance to have his fifth season of eligibility,” coach Ross Hodge said. “As I said when he signed, Chance has the ability, size and physicality to impact both sides of the ball and impact winning at a high level. We are thrilled with the ruling and look forward to Chance being a Mountaineer this season.”
