Per reports, former Mountaineer offensive lineman, Colton McKivitz, will make his first career NFL start today for the San Francisco 49ers at right guard.
To make his debut start for the 49ers even more interesting, McKivitz will be going up against the best the NFL has to offer. Aaron Donald, the star defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams, will provide a stiff challenge for the former Mountaineer.
Mckivitz’s teammates have displayed all the faith in the world in him going up against Donald, particularly 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens.
When Mullens was asked about McKivitz getting the start against Aaron Donald, his response was one that will warm the hearts of Mountaineer fans. “I view him as a good ol’ boy from West Virginia. And that’s kind of, it’s kind of the guy you want up front, just nasty, hard-nosed grinders, and that’s what Colton is.” (Quote via 49ersWebzone.com)
The 49ers and Rams are scheduled to kick off at 4:05 this afternoon.
