Morgantown, WV – After only one year at West Virginia, Darian DeVries moved on to be the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. While it may be viewed as an upgrade due to the prestige of the Indiana program, DeVries will be facing an uphill battle in Bloomington.

As of now, there are currently no returning players for the Hoosiers in 2025, per College Basketball Report.

Every player from Indiana’s 2024-25 roster has either graduated or entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. This is a similar situation that DeVries faced in his lone season at WVU, as he had to piece together a roster through way of the transfer portal.

This is a common occurrence in today’s collegiate athletics. When there is a coaching change, players often enter the transfer portal to follow their coach, as well as discover other opportunities. WVU’s Ross Hodge will face a similar challenge with the Mountaineers.
