Darnell Wright Officially Makes His Decision

Morgantown, West Virginia – It’s official, Darnell Wright announced moments ago that he will return to play for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Wright, who left Tennessee last week according to the school’s official student database, has been rumored to be interested in transferring and perhaps coming to play for the Mountaineers.

Unfortunately at this time, that will not happen.

Reportedly, Tennessee’s new Athletic Director, Danny White, sat down with several players – including Darnell Wright – and convinced them to remain with the school until their new coach is hired. This leaves the door open for a possible return home for Wright if it doesn’t work out with the new coaching staff there.

Wright was a consensus five star recruit and one of the nation’s Top 10 prospects coming out of Huntington High, and has started 16 games mostly at the right tackle position in the last two seasons for the Tennessee Volunteers.
