Morgantown, West Virginia – 6’6 330 pound five star offensive lineman Darnell Wright is at the top of every Mountaineer fans’ wish list and today, Wright made his first statement on social media since the rumors of him leaving Tennessee started.
Wright posted a picture on Twitter with him holding a fortune cookie and a message that read, “Everybody calm down. The cookie has spoken.”
The fortune cookie said the following: “Your sports team will be very successful this year.”
It’s difficult to read into this message from Wright. Perhaps he’s suggesting that he’s going to a team with a bright future like West Virginia. Or maybe he’s saying that even though Tennessee will have a new coaching staff and will lose most of their best players, that they’ll still find a way to win.
It’s also possible that he’s referring to his favorite professional sports team being successful this season.
While it’s unclear what this message ultimately means, it’s widely rumored that Wright will soon enter the transfer portal and leave the University of Tennessee. If/when he does transfer, West Virginia University is the overwhelming favorite to land the talented homegrown player.
