Darris Nichols Lands First Head Coaching Position

Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia guard turned assistant coach at Florida has landed his first head coaching job at Radford, according to multiple sources.

While at West Virginia University, Nichols averaged 10.7 points per game and 3.2 assists per game as a senior for the Mountaineers on the way to WVU’s Sweet 16 run. He was also a member of the 2007 NIT Championship, 2006 Sweet 16 and 2005 Elite Eight teams and finished his collegiate career as a top five most winningest player in Mountaineer history.

After graduating from West Virginia University, Nichols has been an assistant for the Florida Gators for the past five seasons and has become highly respected in coaching circles.

Nichols is originally from Radford, Virginia and this will be an awesome opportunity for him to return home as the head coach  at Radford University!
