Defensive Coordinator’s Wife Gives Big Hint About Who Has Committed to WVU

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia football program has had a huge recruiting weekend with seven major recruits and it appears that the Mountaineers have landed their first of several potential commitments today.

This morning, West Virginia assistant coaches took to social media to celebrate with West Virginia safeties coach Dontae Wright saying, “The Mountaineers got better this morning!  Let’s GO!!!”

Defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley’s wife Ann Lesley replied to Wright’s message by saying, “Me at breakfast” with a person pouring Hershey’s chocolate syrup into a glass of milk.  This is revealing because the recruits’ nickname is “Hershey.”

Marques “Hershey” McLaurin, a defensive back from Friendship, Mississippi, recently entered the transfer portal after playing two seasons at Jones College.  Last season, he was a second team All-MACCC player and this season, he started all ten games for Jones College, finishing with 19 solo tackles, 17 assisted (36 total) and 5 interceptions.

West Virginia desperately needs help in their secondary and Hershey McLaurin is the type of player that can immediately step in and either start or get major snaps for the Mountaineers next season.
