Morgantown, West Virginia – After The Voice of Motown broke the news that Derek Culver has decided to sign with an agent – something we announced weeks ago – he followed it by posting on Instagram that it was “fake news.”

However, it’s 100% true.  He has officially signed with Athletes Sports Management and will not return to play for West Virginia University.

His denial on Instagram was absolutely ridiculous and he has since deleted it: “I have not declared to leave school bruh false news.”

A sports management agency would not put out a statement, welcoming their new client if the paperwork has yet to be signed.  Like we said weeks ago, Culver has been in Los Angeles and has been working out to prepare for a professional career.  He has been completing school work online and with the help of a tutor.

However, he has zero intentions of returning to play for the Mountaineers.  Bob Huggins has known this weeks and that’s precisely why he actively recruited replacements for Culver in Dimon Carrigan and Pauly Paulicap.

Culver was likely unhappy that he was unable to announce his intentions first, but ultimately, he has already signed with the agent and there’s no turning back.  We have seen the last of Derek Culver in a West Virginia uniform.
