Morgantown, West Virginia – It was announced yesterday that Virginia Tech offensive lineman Doug Nester was entering the transfer portal and moments ago, Nester made it official on social media.
Nester, who is originally from Huntington, West Virginia, is a former four star recruit and a two-year starter with the Hokies. Nester played at the same high school (Spring Valley High) as recent WVU commit Wyatt Milum and is very close friends with West Virginia redshirt freshman wide receiver Graeson Malashevich, who also played for Spring Valley in high school.
In his message on social media today, Nester said the following: “I would like to thank everyone at Virginia Tech for the great experiences over the past two years. I am truly grateful for the memories I have created with my brothers at Virginia Tech.
You guys are family for life. I can’t thank the fans enough for their support and how you guys have treated me so well. With that being said, this has been one of the hardest decisions of my life. After talking to my family, careful thought and countless prayers, I believed it was in my best interest to enter my name into the transfer portal. I am excited for the next chapter of my career.”
The next chapter for Doug Nester – according to sources and reports – is Morgantown, West Virginia to play for the Mountaineers!
