Morgantown, West Virginia – Back on September 4th, the West Virginia Mountaineers opened the season at Maryland and unfortunately lost the game to the Terrapins 30-24.
On ESPN’s latest Bowl game projections, both experts – Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach – predicted that the Mountaineers will face Maryland in a rematch this season in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on December 28th.
West Virginia, currently 4-4, needs at least two more victories this season to become bowl eligible. Maryland is currently 5-3 and only need one more win for bowl eligibility.
This would be an outstanding matchup and a tremendous opportunity for the Mountaineers to pay back the Terrapins for the early season loss.
