Morgantown, West Virginia – Former Texas Tech and Texas Longhorns head coach Chris Beard could soon be back on the sidelines!

According to OMSpiritOn3, Beard is meeting with Ole Miss today about its current vacancy. Beard was fired by Texas earlier this season after being charged with a third-degree felony domestic violence charge during an altercation with his fiancée.

However, the charges were recently dropped and there will be certain schools willing to take a risk on Beard, who is considered one of the finest coaches in college basketball.

Last month, Horns247 suggested that Beard could potentially end up at West Virginia University, working under Bob Huggins.

“A source close to Beard said Beard has been spending time at a house in Mississippi owned by former NBA and college coach Tim Floyd. The source said Beard has been entertaining offers, including possibly working as a special assistant to West Virginia coach Bob Huggins next season.”

However, it now appears that Ole Miss will get the first shot at landing Beard as its next head coach. Stay tuned!
