Morgantown, WV – Rich Rodriguez and the WVU Football coaching staff are hard at work to put the finishing touches on the 2025 roster. After making upwards of 30 cuts, the program is now looking to the transfer portal to add depth.
This weekend, WVU is hosting several players in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Christian Hamilton, a wide receiver out of the University of North Carolina, is arguably the most notable of them all.

Hamilton, a former 247Sports four-star prospect in the 2023 class, played two seasons with the Tar Heels. After redshirting in 2023, appearing in only three games, Hamilton saw the field 8 times in 2024. He accumulated 10 receptions for 187 yards and one touchdown during his time in Chapel Hill.
Rodriguez has been adamant throughout spring that the program will look to add receivers during the spring portal window. As of now, there are currently 10 receivers on the roster – including Rodney Gallagher, Cam Vaughn, and Preston Fox.
Hamilton has the skill set to immediately make an impact for the Mountaineers.
