Former Defensive Coordinator Gets Promoted

Former West Virginia Defensive Coordinator Tony Gibson, a native of Van, West Virginia, has been promoted from co-Defensive Coordinator of the NC State Wolfpack to the Defensive Coordinator.

Gibson, who spent 13 years as a coach at West Virginia, is an outstanding recruiter and considered an innovative defensive mind in college football.

NC State recently fired co-defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable and Gibson was promoted as the sole defensive coordinator and he will also now coach the linebackers.

Back in September, West Virginia had perhaps their best offensive game of the season, compiling 272 yards passing and 173 yards rushing in a 44-27 win against the Wolfpack.
