Former Head Coach and Current Football Analyst Says WVU Headed to the ACC

Morgantown, West Virginia – Dave Wannstedt, the former head coach of the Chicago Bears, the Miami Dolphins and the Pitt Panthers, is now a football analyst for Fox Sports.

Today, Wannstedt was on Chicago sports talk station 670 The Score and said he heard some very important news at the Fox meetings last week in Phoenix, Arizona.

Wannstedt said that he heard that Oklahoma State and Kansas State are headed to the Pac 12, that Kansas and Iowa State are going to the Big Ten and that the West Virginia Mountaineers are headed to the the ACC!

If true, this would be extremely good news for West Virginia, who desperately wants to end up in the ACC alongside their former Big East rivals.

Wannstedt is responsible for perhaps West Virginia’s most devastating loss, a 13-9 upset when the Mountaineers were a 28 and 1/2 point favorite over Pitt.  Pitt, as we all know, defeated West Virginia and denied the Mountaineers an opportunity to play for a national championship.
