
Morgantown, West Virginia – Former Marshall starting quarterback Grant Wells has been named the starting quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies, according to head coach Brent Pry.
Wells, a Charleston, West Virginia native, passed for 3,532 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for the Herd as a redshirt freshman last season.
As a true freshman last season, Wells was spectacular, passing for 2,091 yards, 18 touchdowns with only 9 interceptions in a shortened season.
West Virginia will travel to Blacksburg to play the Hokies on September 22nd at 7:30 in Lane Stadium, one of the loudest and most intimidating stadiums in the nation.
