Wells has committed to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies, who the West Virginia Mountaineers happen to play on the 4th week of next season, September 24th, at Virginia Tech.

Wells, a Charleston, West Virginia native, passed for 3,532 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for the Herd as a redshirt freshman this past season.

As a freshman last season, Wells was spectacular, passing for 2,091 yards, 18 touchdowns with only 9 interceptions in a shortened season.
