Former Marshall Quarterback Will Play Mountaineers This Year

Morgantown, West Virginia – Two days ago, Marshall Thundering Herd’s starting quarterback, Grant Wells, decided to leave the team and enter the transfer portal.

Wells has committed to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies, who the West Virginia Mountaineers happen to play on the 4th week of next season, September 24th, at Virginia Tech.

Wells, a Charleston, West Virginia native, passed for 3,532 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for the Herd as a redshirt freshman this past season.

As a freshman last season, Wells was spectacular, passing for 2,091 yards, 18 touchdowns with only 9 interceptions in a shortened season.

This will certainly will add another interesting storyline to the West Virginia versus Virginia Tech game next season!
