Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia guard Mike Gansey has been named the new General Manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers!

Gansey, 39, played for the Mountaineers from 2004-2006, averaged 14.3 points per game as a senior for the team was named first-team All Big-East as well as an AP Honorable Mention All-American.

Since graduating from West Virginia University, Gansey played four seasons as a professional basketball player in Europe before retiring from the game in 2011. Gansey joined the Cavaliers’ organization in 2011. Most recently, Gansey was the assistant general manager for the Cavaliers. When former GM Koby Altman was promoted to president of basketball operations in Cleveland, it left the General Manager position open.
