Former WVU receiver Gary Jennings had a solid rookie campaign in the XFL in 2023. Despite only catching 11 passes for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns, the Virginia native put together a highlight tape that was one of the best in the league.

His notable moment came against the Vegas Vipers on April 8th. Jennings caught a fake punt and took it 64-yards to the end zone for a touchdown. This play has now been recognized as the “Play of the Year” in the XFL.

The play undoubtedly brought a lot of attention to the XFL. There’s nobody more worthy of such a play than Gary Jennings!

Let’s Go Mountaineers!
