The Mountaineers will now be on the search to replace wide receivers coach Tony Washington following his departure for Liberty – a story that was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3Sports.

Washington spent one season in Morgantown, quickly becoming a favorite among the receivers position group. The person that is selected to replace him will have a large task at hand as their will be a lot of turnover in the receivers room.

Despite the challenge, one individual has already spoke out on social media about being up for the job.

Former NFL receiver Ryan Switzer.

After a Mountaineer fan shared that he believed Switzer should be considered for the position, the former North Carolina Tar Heel was quick to respond.

“Ready for it.”

Switzer is a Charleston, West Virginia native. He spent time with the Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Browns in the NFL. Despite no prior coaching experience, the 28-year old would bring youth and energy to the locker room. His professional experience would also strengthen his credibility should he land the job.
