Former West Virginia Starter Forced to Walk On at New School

Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia Mountaineers starting defensive back Dreshun Miller transferred to Auburn prior to last season.

After not playing a single down at Auburn, Miller re-entered the transfer portal and has now enrolled at NC State, where he will re-unite with former West Virginia defensive coordinator Tony Gibson. Gibson is now the defensive coordinator at NC State.

Despite being a former four star cornerback and a proven defensive player at the Power 5 level, Miller will not be on scholarship for the Wolfpack. Instead, Miller has agreed to walk on at the program.

Miller, who started nine games for the Mountaineers two seasons ago, decided to transfer after only one year of playing time in the West Virginia program. He finished 2020 with 31 tackles, 8 pass deflections, and 1 interception.

He has one year left to play and will be immediately eligible as a grad transfer.
