Johnson, a 2021 class recruit, chose the Mountaineers over his final six of Michigan State, Minnesota, California, Louisville and Washington State.  A native of Edwardsville, Illinois, Johnson is currently ranked as the 3rd best player in the state of Illinois and the 14th best running back in the entire nation.
