According to Brown, Greene is DOUBTFUL to play against the Cincinnati Bearcats this Saturday. Greene, a senior from Tallahassee, Florida, was 99/175 for 1,352 yards, 9 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on the season. He also has rushed 76 times for 476 yards and three touchdowns.
When asked for further clarification on when Greene could return, Brown said, “When he’s ready to go, he’ll have an opportunity to play. He’s just not ready right now.”
Redshirt sophomore quarterback Nicco Marchiol is likely to get his second start of the season. Marchiol started last game against Arizona and is 28/40 for 278 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception in 5 appearances.
Head coach Neal Brown said that he is pleased with Marchiol, but that he needs improve his efficiency on third down and continue to moving the chains and get first downs. Brown added that he would “like to see improvement in the run game and would like to see his team hit some more deep throws.”
