MORGANTOWN, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers and Pitt Panthers will bring their ‘Backyard Brawl’ to the hardwood on December 6, 2023.
In a tweet by George Michalowski, who covers Pitt hoops, tweeted the easy non-conference schedule for Pitt prior to facing WVU in Morgantown.

West Virginia’s non-conference schedule has them playing Missouri State, Monmouth, and Jacksonville State. They will then play in the Fort Myers Tip-Off where they’ll meet SMU followed by Virginia or Wisconsin. They will then return home to face Bellarmine and St John’s.
After facing Pitt on Dec. 6, the Mountaineers will face Drexel, UMass, Radford, Toledo and Ohio State all at home.
This will be the first year under head coach Josh Eilert who take over for longtime head coach Bob Huggins who was relieved of his duties earlier this year.
Last year WVU defeated Pitt, 81-56 in Pittsburgh. Expect the same result this year in Morgantown.
WVU is 103-88 versus Pitt and own a six-game win streak over the Panthers.
