HUGE Recruit in Morgantown Today

Morgantown, West Virginia – According to West Virginia Mountaineers sophomore cornerback Daryl Porter, Jr., Marvin Jones, Jr. is on campus and is expected to attend today’s Gold-Blue Spring Game!

Jones, a four star defensive end from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is Porter’s brother and is one of the most highly regarded defensive recruits in the nation.

According to recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins, Jones is “a long-limbed pass rusher with room to only keep getting bigger. Good bloodlines being the son of a former first-round NFL Draft pick.

One of the more feared pass rushers in the class of 2022 given length and first step. Started high school career off playing wide receiver before transitioning to the defensive side of the ball.

Launches out of his stance. Natural bend and fluidity allows him to dip and work his way around the edge. Keeps feet moving once engaged with blockers. Wins hand battles more times than not. Tracks the ball well across the field. Plays situational football. Plus-reach allows him to disrupt passing lanes on a consistent basis. Appeared in just fives games as a sophomore due to injury, but made his presence felt right away as a junior for one of South Florida’s top talent-producing programs totaling 13 sacks for the 5A state champs. Will need to keep improving technique as he learns the position. Must also add some functional strength and get more physical at the point of attack, but rare physical attributes and ability to get after the quarterback suggest he will be a future starter for a Top 25 program and someone that will play on Sundays.”

According to 247 Sports, Jones is most strongly considering Florida State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, but a weekend in Morgantown could change everything!
