Following my advice to reach out to players that have entered the transfer portal, Bob Huggins has finally made contact with the latest player to hit the market. Romello White, a three year starter for the Arizona State Sun Devils, decided to enter the transfer portal yesterday.
White, a 6’9 senior center who averaged 10.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game last season, was one of the best big men in the Pac 12. Although West Virginia is already loaded with front court talent, White is simply too good to pass up on.
And according to basketball analyst Jeff Goodman, Bob Huggins is one of thirteen coaches to have reached out to White. In addition to the Mountaineers, White has been contacted by Michigan State, Wake Forest, Memphis, Arkansas, DePaul, Ole Miss, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Auburn, Purdue and Seton Hall.
Goodman also added that White, who is originally from Marietta, Georgia, would prefer to return close to home to finish his collegiate career.
Arizona State grad transfer Romello White tells me he’s heard from following schools. Georgia native also said he prefers to go closer to home.

West Virginia has one open scholarship and an already stacked lineup in place so he can take his time and find the perfect fit for the team. Romello White is likely the most accomplished player to enter the transfer portal this offseason and Bob Huggins is obviously very interested.
