Isaiah Cottrell Shares Great News About His Recovery

Morgantown, West Virginia – cMoments ago, Isaiah Cottrell made an announcement on social media that will give Mountaineer Nation some reason to believe that he’ll be back and better than ever next season.

“I’m walking!!!”

Head coach Bob Huggins recently said that Cottrell is ahead of schedule and is making remarkable progress in his recovery from injury, but no one expected him to be up and walking already!

In a statement released by West Virginia University following his injury on December 29th in a game against Northeastern, Bob Huggins said, “Everyone associated with Mountaineer basketball is saddened by the news that we received on Isaiah.  Isaiah is a great teammate, a wonderful kid and a hard worker who will do everything ask of him to get back to 100 percent and back on the court.”

Now, it appears that Cottrell returning to the court will happen even sooner than originally thought!  Although Cottrell only averaged 1.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game though his first nine games, Huggins described him as the team’s “most skilled big man” and has an incredibly bright future.

Don’t be surprised to see Isaiah Cottrell in the starting lineup next season for the West Virginia Mountaineers!
