Today, Quarterback Jarret Doege was able to lead the Mountaineers to a 37-10 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. In the victory, Doege connected on 22 of 34 passes with 301 yards and two touchdowns – his third consecutive 300-yard passing game.

Despite many fans calling for Doege’s benching, one outlet praised the signal caller after his solid performance against the Wildcats.

Connor Muldowney of Fansided would give his praise to Doege following the victory. He would state that Doege is the “steady force” that WVU needs right now. Muldowney would conclude his assessment of Doege by calling him “legit” after pointing out the staff’s confidence in him “airing it out.”

Doege hasn’t been perfect, but he has done enough for WVU to start the season. Though he may not be the Will Grier-type quarterback that we became accustomed to seeing, he is getting the job done nonetheless.

It may take some time, but Doege will make the most out of his time at WVU. Not everything happens overnight, and as Muldowney said, Doege could very well “grow into something special.”
