Jarret Doege Gives Update on Whether He’ll Return Next Year or Not

Morgantown, West Virginia – Although ESPN sideline reporter told ESPN sideline reporter Taylor McGregor that he’s “excited to return to West Virginia next season”, he has not publicly made that announcement yet.

Moments ago following West Virginia’s 31-23 victory over Texas, Doege was asked whether he will return to play for the Mountaineers next year and Doege was non-committal.

“I’m just focusing on this season week-to-week.  My focus was on Texas this week and it will be on Kansas next week.  I will sit down with Coach Brown when this season is over and we’ll see what happens.”

Doege had a big game today, finishing 27/43 for 290 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.  He is also the leading passer in terms of yards in the Big 12 Conference.  With that said, he has a terrible 60.2 quarterback rating on the season and his potential return could cause major problems for an already-crowded quarterback room.
