Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia Mountaineers basketball player Jermaine Haley, who played with the Mountaineers from 2018 to 2020, has been named to the Canadian Senior Men’s National Team.
Haley, originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, averaged 7.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists during his time in Morgantown. Haley averaged 8.9 points and 4.3 rebounds, shooting 55.4% from the floor as a senior and scored a career-high 28 points against Iowa State.
Haley, a 6’7 guard/forward, had another year of eligibility due to the pandemic, but decided to enter his name into the NBA Draft instead. In his announcement that he was leaving West Virginia, Haley said the following:
“Thank you Mountaineer Nation for accepting me into your family. You all lifted me up through thick and thin and have supported me no matter what. You have my back and for that I am forever grateful.”
Haley is currently in San Juan, Puerto Rico with the Canadian National Team, where they will play four games in the qualifying round of the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
Best of luck, Jermaine! Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer!
