Jesse Edwards Predicted to West Virginia

Morgantown, West Virginia – One of the most highly-coveted players in the transfer portal is now predicted to end up playing for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

According to 0n3.com, Jesse Edwards, a 6’11 center from Amsterdam, Netherlands, is 100% predicted to play for the Mountaineers next season. Edwards, who will visit Morgantown this weekend, averaged 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game for the Syracuse Orangemen last season.

Since entering the transfer portal on Tuesday, Edwards has heard from multiple major programs from around the country, including Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, BYU, Gonzaga, Seton Hall, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Florida, but has only scheduled a visit with West Virginia so far.

Edwards immediately showing interest in West Virginia after entering the portal is a very good sign for the Mountaineers and could indicate that he’s ready to make his decision if everything goes according to plan this weekend. Of course, like all players, he will want to tour the facilities, see Morgantown, meet the players and coaches, etc., before making a final decision, but the odds of Jesse Edwards playing for the Mountaineers next season looks very promising at the moment. Over the past several years, West Virginia basketball has had a remarkable record of getting visitors to commit once they are on campus.

In addition to Edwards, Iowa State guard Caleb Grill will be in Morgantown this weekend on a visit. Landing both Edwards and Grill, combined with the players returning, would make the Mountaineers a very formidable team heading into the 2023-2024 season.
